Unidentified hexatinellid sponge

Trawled by commercial fishing boat out of Tuléar, Madagascar. Trawled in the Mozambique Channel between 300 and 500 m. This is the single silica spicule of the Monorhaphis sponge, a deepwater glass sponge, that can reach about a total length of 3 meters maximum. A number of spicules are available at lengths varying between 90 and 120 cm. Please ask for additional pictures and info on the available specimens if you want to make a selection.
